Captain America Stands Up to ‘The Man Who Sold the United States’ in New Epic Collection

Cap briefly becomes Nomad before putting on the red, white, and blue again and Jack Kirby returns to Marvel with his oft-collected “Mad Bomb” saga in the latest Captain America Epic Collection titled The Man Who Sold the United States.

The stories from 1974 to 1976 include Captain America #180-200 and Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles Marvel Treasury Edition.

Along with “King” Kirby, the stories in the collection are provided by Steve Englehart, John Warner, Tony Isabella, Bill Mantlo, Marv Wolfman, Frank Robbins, Sal Buscema, Herb Trimpe, Vince Colletta, Frank Giacoia, D. Bruce Berry, Joe Giella, Mike Esposito, Frank Chiaramonte, Barry Windsor Smith, John Romita, John Verpoorten, and Dan Adkins.

In addition to the “Mad Bomb” and Nomad storylines, other highlights include plenty of team-up action with the Falcon against the Red Skull, Madame Hydra and the Serpent Squad, Alchemoid , the Druid, Nightshade, Stilt-Man, and Doctor Faustus.

Much of the material in The Man Who Sold the United States has been collected in recent years in the form of the previous two Captain America Omnibuses (Volumes 3 and 4) and in the facsimile Treasury Edition of Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles.

The Captain America: The Man Who Sold the United States Epic Collection consists of 512 pages for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
