James Gunn’s Marvel swansong was launched into the stratosphere on Thursday and Friday with $48.2 million and continued to rake in cash at an impressive rate the rest of the weekend frame.
The first Epic Collection featuring the original Guardians entitled Earth Shall Overcome opens with Arnold Drake, Gene Colan, and Mike Esposito’s 1969 origin story from Marvel Super Heroes #18 that introduced the world to Vance Astro, Charlie-27, Yondu, and Martinex.
The new Guardians of the Galaxy series will begin on April 12, and the team will consist of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Nebula, and Mantis as they try to contend with a new cosmic disturbance known as “Grootfall”.
