The omnibus collects the entire run (as well as some fill-in issues by artists Collen Doran and Erik Larsen) contained in issue #296-329 of Amazing Spider-Man and material from Amazing Spider-Man Annual #10.
The new limited series (unconstrained by the special effect capabilities or budgetary concerns of 1978) follows the blue print of Donner and Reeve’s, while including more elements from the original comic adventures of the Man of Steel.
We were able to talk to the writer about his approach to Burroughs’ characters and his recent work with two other iconic characters, Red Sonja and Vampirella, as well as his long history with 2000AD and a particular band of space heroes that you may have heard of before.
This week’s titles showcase some of the best of the “Big Two” from a variety of genres, with the return of classic heroes and introductions to some who are embarking on their first adventures.
Snyder has assembled an all-star list of artistic collaborators to work on the new titles as well, including Rafael Albuquerque, Greg Capullo, Francesco Francavilla, Jamal Igle, Jock, Tula Lotay, Francis Manapul, and Dan Panosian.
