The quintessential Todd McFarlane/David Michelinie run on Amazing Spider-Man swings into stores once again this August.
The collection, entitled The Amazing Spider-Man by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, is once again back in print and represents the original stories by the pair from 1988 to 1990.
The omnibus collects the entire run (as well as some fill-in issues by artists Collen Doran and Erik Larsen) contained in issue #296-329 of Amazing Spider-Man and material from Amazing Spider-Man Annual #10.
Over the course of the collection (which was last printed in 2018), Spidey encounters a host of new threats such as Venom and Chance, as well as classic rogues like Mysterio, the Scorpion, Sandman, The Chameleon, Rhino, and the Lizard. The omnibus also includes some confrontations with villains outside of Peter Parker’s normal dance card such as Sabretooth, the Taskmaster, Magneto and the Sentinels. Along the way, Spidey also gets help from Captain America, the Black Cat, Paladin, Silver Sable, and the Incredible Hulk.
The Amazing Spider-Man by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane can be found at your local comic shop on August 4 with two different covers (representing issue #300 and #301 by McFarlane). The omnibus contains 856 pages and retails for $100.
