The folks at Universal Pictures have worked hard cleaning up the Back to the Future trilogy for its 4K UHD debut, and they aren’t shy about showing off the results. The studio took the YouTube to show off the opening scene of the film in all of its 2160p glory.
Rarely does a 4K UHD package of a classic film hit this many of the right notes when it enters the marketplace. Arrow Video’s 4K UHD of Flash Gordon is the savior of the home video universe!
As evidenced by the trailer, director Thomas Hamilton was able to assemble a who’s who of Hollywood fans to discuss Karloff’s career and influence, as the star of Frankenstein, The Mummy, and countless others classic horror films.
What we ended up with was a movie that felt more like the original Resident Evil video game than any of the previous entries in the storied Jurassic Park franchise. Apparently, this didn’t work for everybody, but at least they tried something different!
After seeing The Mummy, I am happy to say that I still have hope for the Dark Universe if Universal learns the right lessons from this movie’s performance and reception.
