The American Library Association (ALA) and Skybound Entertainment want you to race into your local library in September, and they are providing the high octane fuel to get your there with a limited-edition Optimus Prime bookmark!
Library Card Sign-Up Month takes place every September and this year young and old fans alike will be able to get their hands on a bookmark featuring the biggest reader on Cybertron.
Posters and bookmarks featuring Optimus Prime with a library card are currently available for purchase in the ALA store (by librarians and the public) and will most likely be given out by libraries in September to help promote library card sign-ups.
ALA President Emily Drabinski said “We love the energy of the TRANSFORMERS franchise, and we’re excited for this collaboration with Skybound and Hasbro to encourage kids both young and old to roll out to their libraries and get their library cards during National Library Card Sign-Up Month in September. Library cards open worlds of opportunity for Autobots and humans alike. Whether or not your favorite genre is science fiction, library cards spark creativity and inspire critical thinking skills. Join Optimus Prime, who I’m told is a huge library fan, and check out your local library.”
Arune Singh, VP, Brand, Editorial, Skybound Entertainment said “We’re thrilled to work with ALA to bring Optimus Prime’s message of respect and inclusivity to all sentient beings, whether bots, humans or anyone else who loves to read! There’s no better time to show your support for your local libraries than now.”
Look for the posters and library cards at your local library in September and let them know that you want some of those Optimus-branded book marks if you don’t see them at the checkout desk.
