Act 4 Publishing and Skybound head back to DC Comics’ Silver Age in the upcoming DC Silver Age Covers and Stories Artist’s Edition.
Silver Age expert and writer Mark Waid provides the introduction to the Artist’s Edition featuring Silver Age cover and interior art that redefined Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and more.
Highlights include all the interior pages from comics such as Green Lantern #1, complete stories from The Flash by Carmine Infantino, Superman by Al Plastino from Action Comics #282, Sugar and Spike by Sheldon Mayer, and over 75 classic covers and artwork by legendary creators like Jack Kirby, Joe Kubert, Curt Swan, Alex Toth, Nick Cardy, and more.
Covers included in the Artist’s Edition include Flash #123 (the first ever appearance of Earth-Two) by Infantino, Brave and the Bold #34 by Kubert (the debut of the Silver Age Hawkman), Showcase #17 by Gil Kane (the first appearance of Adam Strange), and Superman #199 by Infantino (the first Flash vs. Superman race).
“As an unabashed DC kid, this book is a thrill for me to put together,” said Scott Dunbier. “So many great artists are represented here, and so many absolutely prime covers, stories, and pages. I can’t wait to crack it open!”
Similar to other Artist’s Editions, although the pages appear to be black and white, the art is scanned in color, enabling readers to experience the pages with all of the ink gradients, blue pencil, and other aspects of the original art pages.
Other previously released Act 4 Publishing and Skybound collaborations include Jim Aparo’s DC Classics Artist’s Edition, and Darwyn Cooke’s The Complete Spirit Connoisseur Edition. Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition- EXPANDED, Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition, George Pérez’s The New Teen Titans Artist’s Edition, and The Amazing Spider-Man by Steve Ditko Artist’s Edition will arrive in 2026.
The over-sized Artist’s Edition measures 15” x 22” and sells for a suggested retail price of $195.00.
Look for the Silver Age collection in comic shops on November 4, 2026.
