‘Black Panther: Panther’s Prey’ Omnibus Captures T’Challa’s Late Bronze Age Stories

Two decades of Black Panther stories are collected in the new Panther’s Prey Omnibus, led by the first ongoing series with T’Challa’s name in the title by Jack Kirby.

The Black Panther: Panther’s Prey Omnibus includes Kirby’s 1977 Black Panther #1-15 and number of full guest starring appearances in Marvel Two-in-One #40-41, Marvel Team-Up #87, Marvel Premiere #51-53, The Defenders #84-86, and Iron Man Annual #5.

The Panther’s two four-issue mini-series from 1988 (Black Panther #1-4 by Peter B. Gillis, Denys Cowan, and Sam DeLaRosa) and 1991 (Black Panther: Panther’s Prey by Don McGregor and Dwayne Turner) are also key pieces in the collection which kept his legacy alive in the long stretch between headlining series.

Black Panther anthology and partial guest starring appearances are also included in the Omnibus, highlighted by the 25-part “Panther’s Quest” storyline by McGregor, Gene Colan, and Tom Palmer from Marvel Comics Presents #13-37 and 148, and in Marvel Team-Up #100, What The–?! #9, Solo Avengers #19, Marvel Super Heroes #1, Marvel Fanfare #60, and Fantastic Four Unlimited #1.
