Marvel Adds to ‘Avengers’ Omnibus Series with Vol. 5

After re-releasing all of the previous Avengers Omnibus editions this summer, Marvel finally unveiled a brand new volume that continues the greatest Avengers stories from the Bronze Age, and Steve Englehart’s acclaimed run on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

The Avengers Omnibus Vol. 5 contains The Avengers #120-149, Giant Size Avengers #1-4, Captain Marvel #33, Fantastic Four #150, and Avengers related material from FOOM Magazine #6-7 and 12.

In addition to Englehart, Tony Isabella, Scott Edelman, Roy Thomas, and Gerry Conway pen a few of the tales (primarily the annuals) with art by Bob Brown, John Buscema, Sal Buscema, George Tuska, Tom Sutton, Don Heck, Keith Pollard, Rich Buckler, Jim Starlin, Rich Buckler, Don Heck, Mike Esposito, Dave Cockrum, Joe Staton, Frank Chiaramonte, Mike Ploog, Vince Colletta, Sam Grainger, John Tartaglione, Dan Adkins, Joe Giella, Klaus Janson, Joe Sinnott, and George Perez.

Avengers Omnibus Vol. 5 continues Englehart’s dramatic stories, adding key elements to the Avengers mythos with “The Celestial Madonna” and “The Phantom Empire/Serpent Crown” storylines leading the way. The new collections also includes the Avengers’ first conflict with Thanos, two superhero weddings, and the introduction of new members such as the blue, furry Beast, Hellcat and Moondragon.

Volume 5 also features all of the original letters pages that continued the conversation about the Avengers, long before the advent of computer message boards.

The Avengers Omnibus Vol. 5 contains 856 pages for a suggested retail price of $100.00.

The latest Omnibus is also available with a classic cover by Gil Kane or Rich Buckler.
