Last available in 2012, the first 30 issues of the The Avengers returns in Omnibus form to celebrate the titanic team’s 60th anniversary.
The original tales by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Don Heck, Dick Ayers, Paul Reinman, George Roussos, Chic Stone, Mike Esposito, Wallace Wood, Larry Leiber, and Frank Giacoia introduce the original dysfunctional team of Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, and Iron Man, before giving way to a group of reformed villains including Scarlet Witch, Quick Silver, and Hawkeye, led by the recently dethawed Captain America.
The early Avengers comics also featured a plethora of super villains such as Kang the Conqueror, Baron Zemo’s Masters of Evil, Dr. Doom, Attuma, and frequent “frenemy” Namor.
The collection also includes a guest appearance by Spider-Man, the debut of Wonder Man, and Hank Pym’s new Giant-Man/Goliath transformation.
The Avengers Omnibus Vol. 1 contains 776 page and retails for $100.00.
The Avengers Omnibus Vol. 2 will follow the release of Volume 1 on July 26.
The new edition also arrives with the same two covers from 2012, featuring a homage cover of Avengers #1 by John Romita, Jr. and Klaus Janson and the original by Jack Kirby (direct market variant).
