‘Marc Spector: Moon Knight’ Vol. 2 Omnibus Contains Rare Mini-Series

Not only does the latest Moon Knight Omnibus wrap up the longest running series in the Fist of Khonshu’s publication history so far, but it also contains two highly sought after mini-series from the late ’90s.

The Marc Spector: Moon Knight Omnibus Volume 2 collects the second half of the Marc Spector: Moon Knight series (issues #35-60), the Marc Spector: Moon Knight Special Edition One-Shot, and crossovers in Web of Spider-Man #93-94, Black Panther #20-22, and a Moon Knight storyline from Marvel Comics Presents #152-154.

The main moon event for collectors and fans will most likely be the surprisingly hard to find and valuable mini-series by Doug Moench from 1998 and 1999. The two limited series (“Resurrection War” and “High Strangers” with art by Tommy Lee Edwards and Robert Campanella and Mark Texeira respectively) add two more strange tales and imaginings of Moon Knight by the writer most synonymous with the character. Neither series has ever been collected before, adding to the higher than expected prices at conventions and comic stores worldwide.

Another highlight for fans of Moon Knight in the Omnibus is the short-lived but wildly popular artwork of Stephan Platt on the series (which only lasted six issues before the end in issue #60 and which also prove to be rather expensive even to this day).

The Omnibus also contains stories by Howard Mackie, Chuck Dixon, Christopher Priest, Ron Garney, Michael Higgins, Ron Garney, Gary Kwapisz, Art Nichols, James Fry III, Alex Saviuk, Dave Hoover, Fred Haynes, J.J. Birch, Sal Velluto, Marie Severin, Klaus Janson, Kelley Jones, Norm Breyfogle, Ty Templeton, Bill Sienkiewicz, John Paul Leon, Jim Calafiore, Tom Palmer, Chris Ivy, Jimmy Palmiotti, Bob McLeod, Don Hudson, Keith Williams, Scott Koblish, Bob Almond, John Beatty, Karl Kesel, Al Vey, Fred Haynes, and Jon Holdredge.

The stories are much more entrenched in the Marvel Universe than the original tales from the 1980s, including lots of guest stars (Punisher, Gambit, Werewolf by Night) and tie-ins to events such as the Infinity War and the Infinity Crusade.

The Marc Spector: Moon Knight Omnibus Volume 2 consists of 1,032 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
