The ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Uncovers ‘The Secret of the Petrified Tablet’ in Latest Epic Collection

Peter Parker gets embroiled in a battle between organized crime figures for the control of New York City in the reissued Epic Collection titled The Secrets of the Petrified Tablet.

The Amazing Spider-Man: The Secrets of the Petrified Tablet collects Amazing Spider-Man #68-85 and Amazing Spider-Man Annual #5-6 featuring work by Stan Lee, John Romita, Sr., John Buscema, Larry Lieber, Marie Severin, Jim Mooney, Mike Esposito, and Frank Giacoia.

The main event of the Epic Collection features a fierce competition between the Kingpin and Silverman, as they both try to decipher an ancient petrified tablet, whose secrets promise great power to the victor.

In addition to the multiple issue storyline involving said tablet, Spidey also tangles with Quick Silver, the Shocker, Man-Mountain Marko, the Prowler, the Lizard, the Chameleon, the Kangaroo, the Schemer, and the Black Widow from the stories originally published between 1968 and 1970. The first back story behind Peter’s parents is also revealed and earlier reprints featuring the Sinister Six round out the collection.

The Amazing Spider-Man: The Secrets of the Petrified Tablet consists of 456 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
