DC Comics has the answer for the Watchmen fans out there who are wondering what happened 35 years after Dr. Manhattan turned Rorschach to dust. The company just announced Rorschach, a 12-issue maxiseries set in the Watchmen universe which will debut in October.
In a press release, DC Comics announced that Tom King (Mister Miracle) and Jorge Fornés (Batman) will, “present a new vision of one of the most riveting characters from Watchmen…” Issue #1 will also feature colors by Dave Stewart and lettering by Clayton Cowles. There will also be a variant cover by Jae Lee.
The story of Rorschach will continue many of the ideas explored in the original graphic novel from 1986 and the recent HBO miniseries:
“So what does it mean when Rorschach reappears as part of a pair of assassins trying to kill the first candidate to oppose President Robert Redford in decades? Follow one determined detective as he walks backward in time, uncovering the identities and motives of the would-be killers, taking him deep into a dark conspiracy of alien invasions, disgraced do-gooders, mystical visions, and yes, comic books.”
Rorchach #1 will publish on October 13th, 2020. The book comes with a DC Black Label, meaning it is suitable reading for ages 17 and up. Stay tuned to Conskipper for complete coverage of this exciting new project as soon as it breaks!
