Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña Bring About ‘Avengers: Twilight’ in New Series

The new Avengers: Twilight six-issue series by Chip Zdarsky and Daniel Acuña asks the question: What would it be like if Marvel heroes used their powers to influence and control the world rather than protect it?

Avengers Twilight takes place in a world where Steve Rogers must come out of retirement to attempt to restore the legacy of his former team and fight for a free society. Along the way, Cap interacts and clashes with former friends and allies, as well as futuristic versions of well-known characters.

Zdarsky said that his goal “… is to create a story that is both new reader friendly and also welcomes in older readers who will enjoy the references sprinkled throughout. I think if you have a base knowledge of Marvel super heroes, there’s really something for you here. And getting a chance to do something that’s self-contained in six issues with one consistent artist throughout is my favorite kind of project because those are types of books you can sell forever.”

The first issue of Avengers Twilight will be available at your local comic book shop on January 17.
