The foundation of the Spider-Verse is created in the new Spider-Men: Worlds Collide Marvel Premier Collection.
2012’s five-issue Spider-Men and 2017’s five-issue follow-up in Spider-Men II by Brian Michael Bendis, Sara Pichelli, Mark Bagley, and John Dell paves the way for not only Marvel Comics Spider-Verse, but the animated smash hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in the first team-ups between Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller provide the foreword for the new Marvel Premier Collection, citing the series as the inspiration for their successful and critically acclaimed films. Miles Morales creator Brian Michael Bendis also provides a new introduction for the collection.
Presented in Marvel’s Manga-esque, newly designed book-format style (6″ x 9″ trim size), Worlds Collide details Peter Parker and Miles Morales first meeting across worlds, as the 616 and Ultimate Universes are brought together by Mysterio.
Spider-Men II takes the story farther when Miles finds himself in Marvel Universe proper (after the Ultimate Universe is erased via 2015’s Secret Wars) where he discovers a more sinister version of himself that he and Peter have to contend with.
The Spider-Men: Worlds Collide Marvel Premier Collection consists of 256 pages for a suggested retail price of $14.99.
