Many first generation Star Wars fans have been dreaming of an original 1977 Star Wars rerelease, and we are finally getting the droids we were looking for in 2027 for the film’s 50th Anniversary.
Star Wars: A New Hope will return to movie theaters everywhere on February 19, 2027.
While the film will be a cleaned up and restored version of the original that launched Star Wars mania, it will not be the “Special Edition” version that was released in 1997 (the one featuring the sacra religious scene where Greedo shot first).
