Following the success of DC’s manga-sized Compact Comics line, Marvel will introduce a new 6″ x 9″ format for readers on the go with their upcoming Marvel Premier Collection line.
The just slightly bigger than DC-sized (5.5″ x 8.5″) collections are designed to appeal to readers of novels and manga looking to explore some of Marvel’s most famous storylines and characters.
Dan Buckley, the President of Marvel Comics, said “We’ve all heard the age-old questions: ‘Where do I start? What is that one run you just cannot miss? What should I read before or after the next big movie or television show to have the best experience?’ The Marvel Premier Collection program is our answer to each of those questions. Comics are at the heart of everything we do at Marvel, so this collection will be our go-to publishing line for any and all fans looking for a way into — or further into — the Marvel Universe. These titles will not be the only place to start of course, but they will be one of the best.”
The Marvel Premier Collection will begin with four titles in February 2025 with Daredevil: Born Again by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet by Ta-Nehisi Coates, Brian Stelfreeze, and Chris Sprouse, Captain America: Winter Soldier by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting, and Fantastic Four: Solve Everything by Jonathan Hickman, Dale Eaglesham, Neil Edwards, and Steve Epting.
Each edition contains a complete story, other than the Fantastic Four volume which collects scenes curated by Hickman from Fantastic Four #570-588.
Look for Daredevil: Born Again and Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet at your local book store on February 4 and comic shop on February 5.
