The Neil Gaiman Collection Comics & Comic Art Signature Heritage Auction Headlined by ‘Watchmen’ Page

Neil Gaiman is parting with some significant art from his career as a comic writer, as well as a gift he received from Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore that happens to be a page from Watchmen.

The Dave Gibbons and John Higgins Watchmen #7 Story Page 16 Original Art with Matching Production Color Guide (DC, 1987) was gifted to Gaiman at the start of his career after helping the team with research on the seminal comic series.

The page depicts Dan Dreiberg’s dream sequence (17 panels in total) just before he gets his mojo back and puts his Nite Owl suit once again.

The lot includes the original art by Gibbons and Higgins’ color guide and the page is signed by both Gibbons and Moore with a personal message to Gaiman.

Many other pieces of art from his career are also available in the collection from Sandman, Coraline, and Miracle Man, and Gaiman also plans to send each buyer a note with the writer’s story behind the piece and what it means to him.

Gaiman will donate part of the auction proceeds to the Hero Initiative.

You can see all of the items up for auction by Heritage Auctions right here. All bidding will conclude on March 14.
