Vintage comics in unbelievably pristine conditions brought home record sales figures at the latest Heritage Auctions event with a near-mint (9.4 CGC) copy of 1941’s Captain America Comics #1 selling for $3,120,000 and a near mint copy (9.2 CGC) Fantastic Four #1 selling for $1.5 million.
Corben’s 35.5″ x 50.5″ painting from 1981 sold for seven times higher than Corben’s previous auction high.
The comic book was sold by Heritage Auctions and beat the previous record (also sold by Heritage Auctions) established in 2010 to the tune of $1,075,000 dollars.
