‘Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red’ Continues the Tri-Color Adventures of the Sith Lord

Marvel continues to use the combination of black, white, and red in creative ways in Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red.

The popular anthology format turns the black, white, and red spotlight on the Star Wars villain in April, starting with a story by Benjamin Percy and Stefano Raffaele.

The four-issue series (featuring the second Star Wars character to receive this particular coat of paint after Darth Vader) explores different aspects of the Dathomirian Sith Lord with never-before-seen missions and further connections to his mentor Emperor Palpatine.

Unlike previous Black, White & Red series, Maul’s will feature stand-alone one-shot stories, rather than a number of shorter stories or installments per issue.

Marvel’s Black, White, & Blood line (no blood in the Star Wars universe) previously featured anthologies focusing on WolverineDeadpoolMoon Knight, Carnage, and Elektra.

Every Black, White, & Blood (Red) series so far have been collected as Treasury-sized comics (which the first generation of “Star Wars kids” remember very fondly), so here’s hoping that the trend continues with Maul’s series.
