All-Star Line-Up Explores Untold Tales in ‘Wolverine: Black, White, and Blood’

Marvel Comics has assembled an all-star team of artists and writers to explore the untold tales of Wolverine in an unadulterated black, white, and arterial red format in Wolverine: Black, White, and Blood.

The series will begin in November and each issue will feature three stand-alone adventures from his history including a return to the Weapon X program by Gerry Duggan and Adam Kubert, a team-up with Nick Fury by Matthew Rosenberg and Joshua Cassara, and a survival tale by Declan Shalvey in the very first issue!

Duggan discussed the joys of “Writing ‘Snikt!’ into a script is always a blast and collaborating with the great Adam Kubert is always a joy. Adam and Logan are one of the best pairs in comics…”

Artist Joshua Cassara remembered “Growing up, my older brother had a pile of the original Marvel Comics Presents books and I loved the short stories about Wolverine. I feel like this book carries on in that spirit and I’m living out my childhood dream of drawing him here. But with more blood.”

Shavely called the opportunity “…a real career highlight for me” noting that even though the writer/artist has worked on the character before, “…getting to write and draw Wolverine in a moody, stripped down story is a real jewel in my crown, as it were.”

Future installments will include the return of Chris Claremont to the character that he defined in his classic Uncanny X-Men run, as well as Vita Ayala, Saladin Ahmed, Donny Cates, Ed Brisson, Kelly Thompson, Greg Land, Salvador Larroca, Kev Walker, Chris Bachalo, Leonard Kirk, and more.
