Fans of the original Nova, Richard Rider, will want to rocket into their local comic shop and zoom out with the complete collection of his adventures in the new Nova Omnibus.
The Nova: Richard Rider Omnibus contains his entire original series that ran from 1976 to 1979 (#1-25) as well as all of his guest appearances from the 70s and 80s including The Amazing Spider-Man #171, The Defenders #62-64, Fantastic Four #204-206 and 208-214, Fantastic Four Annual #12, Marvel Two-in-One #91, Marvel Two-in-One Annual #3, The Thing #34, and a story from What If #36.
Marv Wolfman writes all 25 issues of the original Nova: the Human Rocket series, detailing Rider’s new powers and mission, and introduces some of the most bizarre and memorable Nova villains such as Condor, Powerhouse, Diamondhead, Blackout, Megaman, Dr. Sun, and the Sphinx (he also goes up against some more tradition villains such as Sandman and the Yellow Claw).
Wolfman worked with some of the best Marvel artists of the day on Nova such as John Buscema, Sal Buscema, Carmine Infantino, Keith Pollard, Joe Sinnott, Tom Palmer, Frank Giacoia, Dick Giordano, Dave Hunt, Joe Rubinstein, Steve Leialoha, Mike Esposito, and Klaus Janson.
Other Marvel talent responsible for Rider’s many guest appearances include Len Wein, David Anthony Kraft, Tom DeFalco, Mike Carlin, Bill Mantlo, Ross Andru, John Byrne, Bob Hall, Ron Wilson, Paul Neary, Mike Vosburg, Jim Mooney, Don Perlin, Al Milgrom, Frank Springer, Bob Wiacek, Jon D’Agostino, and Kim DeMulder.
The Nova: Richard Rider Omnibus contains 880 pages for a suggested retail price of $100.
The Nova Omnibus will be in stores on March 29 and available with a choice of covers by John Buscema (issue #1) or Pollard (issue #25).
