The U.S.S. Flagg-sized hardcover Compendium set of G.I. Joe comics returns to add even more to the current Kickstarter comic book record.
The G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Compendium Set (which launches again on March 24) consists of four volumes containing all 300 of the original Marvel Comics stories (written by Larry Hama), including the Yearbooks and mini-series.
The G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Compendium Set supplanted the former record holder, Good Omens: The Official (and Ineffable) Graphic Novel, for most funds raised with a whopping total of $3,699,658.
Good Omens retained the most backers record with 36,867 backers to Joe’s 10,248 (which had a much higher price tag that backers had to shell over for the various tiers).
In addition to the Compendiums, this time around, ten lucky premium level backers will have the opportunity to become immortalized as a G.I. Joe character, with their very own G.I. Joe file card written by Hama and drawn by series artist Chris Mooneyham. Backers will receive two 6×8″ hard copies and a digital file, along with all the other rewards in the NIGHT RAVEN tier.
