Nosferatu continues to impress critics and classic horror fans, hanging onto third place at the weekend box office in a very competitive field of holdovers.
Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu (which was also Conskipper’s #1 movie of 2024) scared up another estimated $13.2 million for a domestic total of $69.4 million.
The classic horror remake now sits at $100 million at the global box office, with many more territories opening up soon.
The fact that Nosferatu has performed so well for Focus Features with mega-budget hits such as Mufasa, Sonic 3, Moana 2, and Wicked is a testament to the film’s strengths and its ability to capture ticket buyers outside of the typical horror film set.
Expect Nosferatu to continue to deliver life blood to a usually slow January frame until Universal and Leigh Whannell’s modern remake of The Wolfman opens on January 16.
