John Travolta and ‘Pulp Fiction’ 30th Anniversary Screening Kicks Off 15th Annual TCM Classic Film Festival

Turner Classic Movies opens their 15th annual TCM Classic Film Festival on Thursday, April 18 with a 35mm screening of Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction with Vincent Vega himself, John Travolta, in attendance to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film. 

Pulp Fiction starts the festival and is part of the programming block titled “Most Wanted: Crime and Justice in Film” that includes Chinatown, White Heat, The Big Heat, and Rear Window among others.

Other guest appearances include Billy Dee Williams introducing his films Lady Sings the Blues and The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings  and Academy Award-winning makeup artist Lois Burwell appearing for her films Almost Famous and Lincoln. Both tributees will also sit down with a TCM host for a conversation in Club TCM located in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

UPDATE (3/21/24): Additional programming will include: a closing night screening of 1987’s comedy Spaceballs presented by writer and director Mel Brooks, Steven Spielberg in Q&A with UCLA Film School’s Howard Suber ahead of the director’s cut of Spielberg’s film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Shawshank Redemption with stars Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins in attendance, and David Fincher presenting a world premiere restoration IMAX® screening of his 1995 thriller Se7en.
