Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino Return to the ‘Bone Orchard’ in September with ‘Ten Thousand Black Feathers’

The second installment in Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino’s Bone Orchard series, Ten Thousand Black Feathers, will fly into stores this September.

Lemire describes the follow up to Image Comics The Passageway as “…a  story of friendship, coming of age and imagination that is equal parts horrific, mysterious and heart wrenching.”

Ten Thousand Black Feathers will focus on two best friends with a passion for fantasy games who find themselves having a hard time distinguishing between reality and make-believe. Sorrentino says that “The way the story is laid out—told between present and a mysterious past—gave me the chance to play with styles in a way that will be new to readers of The Passageway.”

Unlike The Passageway, which was an original graphic novel, Feathers will be a limited series this time around.  Lemire and Sorrentino initially stated that The Bone Orchard Universe titles would vary in terms of size and scope, and formats,

Ten Thousand Black Feathers #1 will be available at your local comic book shop on September 14 and arrives with a standard cover by Sorrentino and an additional six variants (although three of the variants are retailer incentive covers).
