Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa Named as New Creative Team on ‘Avengers’

Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa take the baton from Jason Aaron as they begin their new run on Avengers this May.

MacKay and Villa’s Avengers’ line-up will consist of Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America (Sam Wilson), Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, and Vision, as they come to grips with the blessings and curses the comes with their knowledge of the Tribulation Events.

The new run at the start of the Avengers 60th Anniversary opens with a battle with Terminus and the first of the mysterious Tribulation Events: The Fall of the Impossible City.

MacKay and Villa previously teamed-up on the Black Cat series, and the writer says that “I grew up on the Avengers, weaving in and out of their 60s and 70s exploits as a kid, and having the opportunity to plot the course of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is a rush, especially coming from the street-level and/or weirdo niche I’ve been working in over the last couple of years. This is big, loud Avengers stuff—nothing in this story should ever feel small or inconsequential, and our lineup reflects that.”
