Food Network fills up their candy bag for 2024 with fan-favorite series/specials for the Halloween season.
The two biggest pumpkins on the Food Network, Halloween Baking Championship (Food Network’s third highest-rated series of the year among adults) and Halloween Wars, are back with new seasons filled with treats and tricks.
Halloween Baking Championship kicks off the festivities on Monday, September 16 at 9pm ET/PT with some new “steampunk vibes” courtesy of host John Henson’s haunted science lab. Returning judges Stephanie Boswell, Carla Hall and Zac Young decide who will earn the title of Halloween Baking Champion.
Halloween Wars debuts on Sunday, September 22 at 9pm ET/PT with the zany Jonathan Bennett once again hosting the new season where eight teams comprised of pumpkin carvers, cake bakers and sugar artists compete against each other to create horror-themed displays.
This year the teams are captained by former champions, adding some additional skill and experience to each squad. Judges Shinmin Li and Aarti Sequeira are back to cast judgment on all of the haunting and bizarre creations. So far, it appears that Ghost Adventures Zak Bagans is not returning as the televised “ghost host”.
As in previous seasons, the Road to Halloween Wars special (that introduces viewers to all of this year’s contestants) will air on Sunday, September 22 at 8pm ET/PT.

Before Halloween Wars kicks off, viewers will see how the competitors were selected in a Road to Halloween Wars special on Sunday, September 22nd at 8pm ET/PT.
Outrageous Pumpkins (Sunday, September 29 at 10pm ET/PT) and the Kids Baking Championship: Scary Good Special (Monday, October 7 at 8pm ET/PT) round out the Halloween content, along with some Halloween-themed episodes of The Kitchen and The Pioneer Woman.
Food Network’s Halloween programming is some of the most popular content on the channel, attracting over 28 million viewers last year, placing the Food Network in the top 5 non-news/sports cable network among adults during September and October.
Betsy Ayala, Head of Content, Food said “Food Network’s Halloween programming is iconic because of its fantastical themes and extraordinary creations. Launching Halloween in September allows us to build fan excitement early and carry that momentum through October to the end of the year.”
