Dark Horse Books continues to add to their fan-favorite Richard Corben Library with the famed artist’s long-out-of-print take on Beauty and the Beast titled Rowlf and Other Fantasy Stories.
Rowlf is a trilogy of werewolf stories, with elements of fairy tales, fantasy, and science fiction.
The collection includes The Beast of Wolfton, and its sequel The Spirit of the Beast, and an adaptation of a Japanese legend by Lafcadio Hearn called The Story of Oteg (along with some bonus material).
Originally published in underground comic Voice of Comicdom (1970-71’s #16 and #17), the first collection was published by Rip Off Press in 1971.
Rowlf also includes a new introduction by fellow legend Hayao Miyazaki.
The Rowlf and Other Fantasy Stories hardcover collection contains 128 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
Rowlf will be available at your local comic shop or bookstore on August 5.
