The first part of Chip Zdarsky’s recent Batman run is collected in the new Batman by Chip Zdarsky Omnibus Vol.1.
Vol. 1 collects Batman #125-136, Batman: the Knight #1-10, and his anthology story from Batman: Urban Legends #1-6.
Art is provided by Carmine Di Giandomenico, Mike Hawthorne, Jorge Jimenez, Oclair Albert, Eddy Barrows, Jorge Corona, Adriano Di Benedetto, Scot Eaton, Eber Ferreira, Julio Ferreira, Mikel Janin, Miguel Mendonca, Jesus Merino, Diogenes Neves, Belen Ortega, Leonardo Romero, and Marcus To.
The collections opens with Zdarsky’s first two story arcs “Failsafe” and “The Bat-Man of Gotham”. “Failsafe” begins Zdarsky’s run with a mystery involving the murder of a number of Gotham City billionaires and the introduction of new, yet familiar android nemesis Failsafe.
“The Bat-Man of Gotham” story arc follows Bruce’s battle with Failsafe, and starts when the Dark Knight wakes up in an alternate reality where Batman doesn’t exist. Instead, Gotham is protected by the Red Mask and his army of monsters, forcing the Bat-detective to get to work again.
The Omnibus also includes Zdarsky’s ten-issue reimagining of the origins of Batman, starting with his childhood in Batman: the Knight and the six-part Batman/Red Hood confrontation from the Urban Legends anthology series titled “Cheer”.
Batman by Chip Zdarsky Omnibus Vol.1 consists of 960 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
