New ‘Zorro’ Series by Howard Chaykin & Jorge Fornés Coming from Alien Books/IDW

Zorro returns to the world of comics in Howard Chaykin and Jorge Fornés’ new series this May.

The three-issue series will pit Don Diego de la Vega against an unlikely foe from history by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte.

“I grew up with Zorro, the television series, the comics, the Fairbanks and Power pictures–and loved them all,” said Chaykin. “I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to tell a Zorro story that takes our hero on an adventure a world away from the hills of San Capistrano.”

“Howard Chaykin is one of my favorite creators in both writing and drawing,” added Fornés. “I hadn’t had the opportunity to work with him until now, and I didn’t want to pass it up. I’m absolutely thrilled that we’re able to collaborate on this book.”

Zorro #1 will arrive in comic stores on May 20 with four different covers by Fornés, Francesco Tomaselli, Juan Ferreyra, Rodrigo Yoshimiya, and a blank variant for aspiring artists everywhere.
