The Batman in the Seventies trade paperback collection returns to print for the first time 27 years.
The collection includes Batman stories from DC Super Stars #17, Detective Comics # 407, 410, 442, 457,and 481, Batman #232, 237, and 260, and Batman Family #1.
All stories are written by Gardner Fox, Denny O’Neil, Paul Kupperberg, Elliott S. Maggin, and Paul Levitz, with art by Irv Novick, Gil Kane, Kurt Schaffenberger, Dick Giordano, Neal Adams, Alex Toth, Walter Simonson, Mike Grell, Joe Staton, Bob Layton, and Marshall Rogers.
The stories from the 1970s paved the way for more serious stories and more dangerous threats for the Dark Knight Detective and introduced memorable characters such as Ra’s Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul, and Man-Bat.
Highlights in the reprinted edition (which was originally released in 1999) include: “There is No Hope in Crime Alley”, “A Vow from the Grave”, “Night of the Reaper”, “Marriage: Impossible”, “Daughter of the Demon” and “Death Flies the Haunted Sky”.
The collection still includes the introduction by O’Neil as well.
DC Comics also reissued the Superman in the Seventies trade paperback collection earlier this year.
Batman in the Seventies consists of 192 pages for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
