Get Hooked on ‘Aquaman by Peter David’ Omnibus

The nineties were an era of big, temporary changes to the status quo for the heroes of DC and Marvel Comics, with new costumes, powers, characters, and for some unlucky heroes, the loss of appendages.

Peter David’s replacement of Aquaman’s hand with a hook/harpoon (and the addition of a full, manly beard) set the stage for one of the greatest runs ever by the swimming sensation, one that had as much substance as spectacle, another rarity for the speculator era of comics.

DC’s new Aquaman by Peter David Omnibus captures the writer’s entire run from 1994 to 1998, including Aquaman #0-49, Aquaman: Time and Tide #1-4, Aquaman One Million, Aquaman Annual #1-4, Tempest #1-4, and a story from Showcase ’96 #1.

Along with David, the Omnibus contains work by Jim Calafiore, Bill Mumy, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Phil Jimenez, Kirk Jarvinen, Martin Egeland, Gene Gonzales, Joe St. Pierre, Alan Caldwell, Derec Aucon, Roger Robinson, Vince Giarrano, Chris Renaud, Tom Grindberg, Jake Jacobsen, Ed Hannigan, Anthony Williams, Vince Giarrano, Brad Vancata, Howard M. Shum, Rodney Ramos, Peter Palmiotti, Mark McKenna, Charles Barnett, Phyllis Novin, Ken Branch, Bill Anderson, Steve Mitchell, and John Stokes.

The Aquaman by Peter David Omnibus will be available on December 3 and consists of 1,584 pages for a suggested retail price of $150.00.
