The three-part “The Nightshade Odyssey” provides the focus and title for the second Suicide Squad DC Finest collection.
DC Finest: Suicide Squad: The Nightshade Odyssey includes Suicide Squad #11-20, Suicide Squad Annual #1, Checkmate #1 and 8, Deadshot #1-4, The Doom Patrol and Suicide Squad Special, Flash #12, Justice League America #13, Manhunter #1 and 6, and Nightshade and Doctor Light’s origins from Secret Origins #28 and 37.
All stories are written by John Ostrander, Paul Kupperberg, Kim Yale, J.M. DeMatteis, and Robert Greenberger, with art by Luke McDonnell, Keith Giffen, Steve Erwin, Erik Larsen, Doug Rice, Pablo Marcos, Rob Liefeld, Bob Lewis, Malcolm Jones III, Bob Oksner, Al Vey, Al Gordon, Sam Kieth, and Romeo Tanghal.
The stories (originally published in 1988 and 1989) continue directly after DC Finest: Suicide Squad: Trial by Fire and feature Rick Flag and his crew of conscripted villains discovering Nightshade’s mysterious origins and interacting with much of the post-Legends DC Universe.
The rare four-issue Deadshot mini-series is also included in the new collection.
The Nightshade Odyssey consists of 592 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
