Clover Press Rescues ‘Marvel Masterworks’ Line

Marvel Comics premiere format hardcover collection series, Marvel Masterworks, will now be published by Clover Press, saving the almost-forty year line from extinction.

As reported by Popverse, “Clover Press has obtained the license to restart the Marvel Masterworks line under its own banner, as it announced to retailers during a closed-door event today at Comic-Con International: San Diego. Clover Press’ Marvel Masterworks line is scheduled to begin in 2027, with re-issues of some previous editions and continuation of some of the long-running collection series that ended abruptly with Marvel’s decision to stop the line themselves (in 2025)”.

Clover Press publisher Hank Kanalz announced at the same retailer meeting that the first four books from Clover Press will be new volumes of Uncanny X-Men, Super Villain Team-Up, Mighty Thor, and Tomb of Dracula.

Each volume will be released with the classic border format and numbering and a new design with no numbering to attract new readers to the format.

It was reported last summer (by Bleeding Cool) that the format would disappear starting with the cancelled January 2026 solicitations.
