The second half of Mark Waid’s six year “run” on The Flash gets collected in the new The Flash Omnibus by Mark Waid Vol. 2.
The Omnibus (representing stories from 1994 to 1997) collects Flash #0, 92-129, Flash Annual #7-9, Zero Hour: Crisis in Time #4, Impulse #10-11, The Flash Plus one-shot, a Flash story from DC Universe Holiday Bash (1997) #1, and a few Who’s Who character profiles.
In addition to Waid, other writers in the Omnibus include Michael Jan Friedman, Brian Augustyn, Mark Wheatley, Allan Gross, Peter J. Tomasi, and Dan Jurgens.
A whole army of artists are also in the collection, such as Mike Wieringo, Carlos Pacheco, Salvador Larroca, Oscar Jimenez, Roger Robinson, Ron Lim, Anthony Castrillo, Jim Cheung, Sergio Cariello, Paul Ryan, Ed Benes, Dave Brewer, J.H. Williams III, Dan Jurgens, Humberto Ramos, Eduardo Barreto, Jose Marzan, Jr., Sergio Borjas, Mark Stegbauer, Hanibal Rodriquez, John Nyberg, Brian Garvey, Mick Gray, Jerry Ordway, Wayne Faucher, Gerry Fernandez, Dick Giordano, Tom McCraw, and John Costanza.
Some highlights of volume two include the debut of Bart Allen as Impulse and Wally West traveling through time and meeting speedsters across generations such as Jay Garrick, Max Mercury, and Jesse Quick in the six-part “Terminal Velocity” storyline.
Waid’s run would be followed by the start of Grant Morrison’s in Flash #130.
The Flash Omnibus by Mark Waid Vol. 2 consists of 1,216 pages for a suggested retail price of $150.00.
