‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Omnibus Vol. 6 Swings into Stores for First Time

The adventures of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man continue in the new Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol. 6, ending Spider-Man’s ’70s fun and launching the hero into the 1980s.

Volume 6 collects The Amazing Spider-Man #181-205, The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #12-13, and The Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #1 and Spidey stories from What If #1 (“What if Spider-Man Joined the Fantastic Four?”), #7 (“What If Someone Else Had Become Spider-Man?”), #8 (“What If the Spider Had Been Bitten By a Radioactive Human?”), and #19 (“What If Spider-Man Had Stopped the Burglar Who Killed His Uncle?”).

Marv Wolfman’s entire run on Amazing Spider-Man is included in the Omnibus, along with writing by Bill Mantlo, Jim Starlin, David Michelinie, Roy Thomas, Don Glut, Scott Shaw, and Peter B. Gillis.

Spider-art is provided by Ross Andru, Keith Pollard, Sal Buscema, John Romita, Jr., Jim Starlin, John Byrne, Al Milgrom, Rich Buckler, Jim Craig, Rick Hoberg, Scott Shaw, Pat Broderick, Mike Esposito, Bob McLeod, Frank Giacoia, Jim Mooney, Frank Springer, Marie Severin, Alan Kupperberg, Terry Austin, Pablo Marcos, and Sam Grainger.

In addition to all of the great story content, the Omnibus also contains rarities from F.O.O.M. like profiles on Spider-Man greats Stan Lee and John Romita, the art from the 1978 Mighty Marvel Comics Calendar starring Spider-Man, letters pages, house ads, and original art, making this volume a complete time capsule for what Spider-Man was up to in this era.

Highlights include Peter Parker’s marriage proposal to Mary Jane, the debut of the Black Cat, the return of the Burglar, a crime war with the Kingpin and the Punisher, and colorful villains such as Rocket Racer, the White Dragon, Jigsaw, Man-Wolf, the Spider-Slayer, the Fly and classics like Electro, Mysterio, and Doctor Octopus.

The Omnibus consists of 792 pages, for a suggested retail price of $100.00.
