John Ostrander’s reinvention of the Suicide Squad is featured in the new Suicide Squad by John Ostrander Omnibus Vol. 1.
The Omnibus collects the new team’s debut in the post-Crisis mini-series Legends#1-6, Suicide Squad #1-18, the Doom Patrol and Suicide Squad on-shot, Checkmate #1 and 8, Firestorm #62-64, Firestorm Annual #5, Justice League International #13, Manhunter #1, and related stories from Secret Origins #14 and 28 and Millennium #4.
In addition to Ostrander, the Omnibus also contains work by Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis, Paul Kupperberg, Lein Wein, Kim Yale, Robert Greenberger, Luke Mcdonnell, Dave Hunt, Karl Kesel, Erik Larsen, Steve Erwin, Al Vey, Joe Brozowski, Dick Giordano, Sam De La Rosa, Alfredo Alcala, Bob Lewis, John Byrne, Doug Rice, Sam Kieth, and Rob Liefeld.
The former Task Force X transforms into the villain-heavy Suicide Squad under Ostrander’s guiding hand, mainly composed of Deadshot, Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang, Bronze Tiger, Nightshade, and the Enchantress.
DC released the DC Finest: Suicide Squad: Trial by Fire collection in March, which contains issues from the start of the Suicide Squad series and various crossovers.
Suicide Squad by John Ostrander Omnibus Vol. 1 consists of 1,008 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00. The Omnibus will be available at your local comic shop on May 20.
