‘Skywalker: A Family at War’ Takes a Biographical Look at Star Wars History

While the Skywalker saga may be over, it is far from forgotten.

This spring, writer and associate editor of StarWars.com Kristen Baver will examine the Skywalker saga through the eyes of a biographer, incorporating the films, books, comics, and all other canon into a thorough examination of the Skywalker story.

Baver’s approach to the fictional biography allowed her to “…treat the family as if they were real people, with compassion and empathy, while simultaneously crafting an unflinching portrait of their accomplishments and their failures.” The focus of Skywalker: A Family at War will range from the prequel all the way through the adventures of Rey (the “adopted” Skywalker) in the third trilogy.

As a fan since childhood, Baver wanted to create a that she wished she “…would have had during that time, when I was hungry to know everything I could learn about these characters.”

Artist Matt Ferguson provided the cinematic cover for the upcoming biography and said that “I really enjoyed doing my take on the classic Star Wars composition. I think making the Vader element was my favorite part. He just has such a great costume design!”
