Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos Stage a ‘Berlin Breakout’ in New Epic Collection

Book 2 of the Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos Epic Collection steams headlong into all parts of occupied Europe with a quest to win WW2 and eliminate the world of all Nazis.

The Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos: Berlin Breakout Epic Collection covers the squad’s early Marvel years between 1965 and 1966 in Sgt. Fury #20-36 and Sgt. Fury Annual #1-2.

All the stories are written by Stan Lee and Roy Thomas, with art by Dick Ayers, John Tartaglione, Frank Giacoia, and Carl Hubbell.

In addition to all the standard war stories, Fury and his Commandos also embark on a mission to protect the Manhattan Project, take on an undercover agent who turns out to be the Red Skull, and tangle with frequent Captain America foe Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.

Readers also learn the origin of Nick Fury’s eyepatch, how he got promoted from sergeant to second lieutenant, and share in a rare adventure from the Korean War.

The first volume of the Sgt. Fury Epic Collection series was released in 2019.
