Some of Richard Corben’s earliest work in comics will be presented in a new Richard Corben Library release titled The Best of Fantagor.
Dark Horse Books The Best of Fantagor collects some of Corben’s most obscure and hard-to-find stories from the first five issues of his own self-produced comic series, Fantagor, like the complete Razar the Unhero trilogy (completely compiled for the first time), “Twilight of the Dogs,” “The Temple,” and more.
Additional writers include Jan Strnad and Doug Moench, with all illustrations by Corben and restorations by project art director José Villarrubia.
In total, the collection includes seven fantasy tales, three comedic stories, two sci-fi works, and several genre-bending ones from Fantagor #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Up from the Deep #1, Métal Hurlant #28, Heavy Metal #75, and Grim Wit #1 and 2.
The book will also feature an introduction by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator and former Heavy Metal Publisher Kevin Eastman.
The Best of Fantagor hardcover collection consists of 160 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99. The Best of Fantagor will be available at your local comic shop on November 24.
