The latest Silver Surfer Epic Collection wraps up Steve Englehart’s run on the Surfer and begins Jim Starlin’s (and Marvel Comics) elevation of Thanos as the biggest threat to all Marvel heroes.
The Silver Surfer: Return of Thanos Epic Collection contains Silver Surfer #24-38 and the rare hardcover graphic novel created from an outline by Stan Lee by Keith Pollard entitled Silver Surfer: The Enslavers.
Englehart, Ron Lim, Randy Emberlin, and Tom Christopher end on a high note with a second Kree-Skrull War involving a team-up between Norrin Radd and the Super Skrull against the forces of both empires, Empress S’Byll, The Stranger, the Midnight Sun, and the Living Tribunal.
Jim Valentino, Ron Frenz, Joe Sinnott, and Lim fill in for two issues (featuring a hilarious meeting with the Impossible Man in issue #33) before Starlin begins his run with Lim which would forever change the Marvel Universe status quo heading into the ’90s, and lead directly into The Infinity Gauntlet and all the subsequent sequels.
Return of Thanos contains 480 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
