‘The Man in the Ant Hill’ Epic Collection Contains the Original Ant-Man and Wasp Stories

Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Dick Ayers original Silver Age Ant-Man and the Wasp stories are once again available in The Man in the Ant Hill Epic Collection.

The Ant-Man/Giant Man graphic novel contains Tales to Astonish #27 and #35-59, highlighting the title’s and Marvel’s transition from giant monster stories to the super hero fare that made the company a household name.

The Epic Collection (originally released in 2015) starts with an Incredible Shrinking Man-style tale of Henry Pym and his shrinking serum in issue #27 before reintroducing Pym in his traditional hero garb (and helmet) in issue #35’s “The Return of the Ant-Man”.

Janet Van Dyne arrives as the Wasp in Tales to Astonish #44 and Pym grows to Giant-size in issue #49.

Most of the foes featured in this era (1962-1964) consist of monsters and mad scientists, with the exception of recurring “super” villains The Porcupine and The Human Top.

The Ant-Man/Giant Man: The Man in the Ant Hill Epic Collection contains 448 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
