48-Page ‘Punchline’ One-Shot Comic Coming from James Tynion IV, Sam Johns, Mirka Andolfo this November

2020 has been a big year for Punchline, and the folks at DC Comics have just unveiled when and where here story will continue. The “anti-Harley Quinn” will get her very own 48-page one-shot comic book this November.

In a press release, DC Comics announced that James Tynion IV (Batman) and Sam Johns (Crimes of Passion, Over the Garden Wall) will write the book and Mirka Andolfo (Bombshells, Harley Quinn) will provide the art. Yasmine Putri created the main cover art for the book, and there will be a special variant cover by Frank Cho.

The one-shot comic will further explore the mystery behind Punchline. DC offered up a brief synopsis of the book with today’s announcement:

“Facing the consequences of her role in “The Joker War,” Punchline is the story of Alexis Kaye, and how she’ll take Leslie Thompkins, Harper Row and Cullen Row on a harrowing journey that reveals her radicalization to The Joker’s ideology.”

2020 has been a big year for Punchline, and fans have followed her through the pages of “The Joker War” up to her most recent brawl with Harley Quinn starting in Batman #93. Tynion IV had this to say about where the new Punchline book will take the character:

“Back when I first introduced Punchline, I said many times that this wasn’t going to be a flash in the pan character. That I had big plans for her moving forward, that would drive big story next year and beyond. “Joker War is over, but Punchline’s plans have only just begun. I’m thrilled to be telling this frightening story that expands her past, and sets up her future, with the amazing Sam Johns, and the incredible Mirka Andolfo. This is only the beginning!”
