‘Nine Lives Has the Black Cat’ in New ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Epic Collection

Spidey swings into the 1980s in the new Amazing Spider-Man: Nine Lives Has the Black Cat Epic Collection.

Nine Lives Has the Black Cat collects The Amazing Spider-Man #186-206, The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #13, and Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #1.

All stories are written by Marv Wolfman, Bill Mantlo, Roger Stern, David Michelinie, and Jim Starlin, with art by Keith Pollard, John Byrne, Rich Buckler, Sal Buscema, Jim Starlin, Al Milgrom, Jim Mooney, Mike Esposito, Frank Giacoia, Terry Austin, Gene Day, Pablo Marcos, Bob McLeod, Frank Springer, Marie Severin, and Alan Kupperberg.

Highlights include Peter Parker’s marriage proposal to Mary Jane, Aunt May’s poor health, the debut of the Black Cat, the return of the Burglar, the third appearance of mutant disco queen Dazzler, a crime war with the Kingpin and the Punisher, and colorful villains such as Jigsaw, Man-Wolf, the Spider-Slayer, the Fly and classics like Electro, Mysterio, the Chameleon, and Doctor Octopus.

Much of the material in the new Epic Collection was also recently collected in the Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol. 6.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Nine Lives Has the Black Cat Epic Collection consists of 488 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
