‘José Luis García-López’s DC Classics’ Artist’s Edition Celebrates Career of Legendary Artist

José Luis García-López six decades at DC Comics is celebrated in the new José Luis García-López’s DC Classics Artist’s Edition.

The prestige format, 12″ x 17″ hardcover from DC and Act 4 Publishing showcases García-López’s artwork at full size, scanned directly from his original comic pages.

José Luis García-López’s DC Classics Artist’s Edition features seven complete stories, including ones starring Batman, Jonah Hex, Cinder and Ashe, as well as the original cover art to DC Comics Presents #1, a page featuring Lois Lane from the DC Comics Style Guide, interior pages from DC Comics Presents #4 and #24, and the covers to Secret Origins #6 and Superman #322.

Many pages are also inked by García-López himself, offering an even deeper dive into his process and techniques.

Similar to other Artist’s Editions, although the pages appear to be black and white, the art is scanned in color, enabling readers to experience the pages with all of the ink gradients, blue pencil, and other aspects of the original art pages.

García-López DC Comics Style Guide was released in 2024, offering fans a chance to own DC’s internal manual featuring García-López’s rendition of all the major DC characters.

DC Silver Age fans can also look for Act 4 Publishing and Skybound’s DC Silver Age Covers and Stories Artist’s Edition (due out in November 2026).

Previous DC related releases from Act 4 Publishing include Jim Aparo’s DC Classics Artist’s EditionDarwyn Cooke’s The Complete Spirit Connoisseur Edition, and George Pérez’s The New Teen Titans Artist’s Edition.

José Luis García-López’s DC Classics Artist’s Edition consists of 240 pages for a suggested retail price of $150.
