Graphic Novel Sales Up in 2025

After two years of declining sales, graphic novels bounced back in 2025, rising 9.2% to 25.9 million units sold.

Also of note, according to Publisher’s Weekly, in terms of novel sale, “Science fiction posted the largest increase among adult fiction categories, with sales up 22.1%, to just over six million units. Suspense and thriller sales fell 2.2%, to 25.5 million units.”

The best selling graphic novels at comic shops in 2025 included Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo, Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 1: Married With Children, as well as other volumes in the Ultimate Spider-Man series and from DC’s new Absolute line. Transformers and Invincible graphic novels were once again big hits for Image Comics.
