Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. begin their run on Uncanny X-Men in the new X-Men: Lifedeath Epic Collection.
Lifedeath collects The Uncanny X-Men #176-188, Kitty Pryde and Wolverine #1-6 (by Claremont and Al Milgrom), and the X-Men stories in Marvel Fanfare #40.
Claremont also teams with Barry Windsor-Smith for the classic title story featuring an in-depth examination of Storm and Forge’s relationship.
Additional art in the Epic Collection is provided by Craig Hamilton, Dan Green, Bob Wiacek, Terry Austin, Rick Bryant, Brett Breeding, and John Romita, Sr.
Other highlights in the collection include Cyclops honeymoon with Madelyne Pryor, Kitty Pryde’s contentious marriage arrangement to the Morlock Caliban, Colossus ‘ titanic battle against the Juggernaut, Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants return, and the first appearance of future Phoenix Rachel Summers.
Claremont and Damian Couceiro returned to the 1980s for a follow up to the original Kitty Pryde and Wolverine mini-series in 2025 (which is now available in a new trade paperback collection).
The X-Men: Lifedeath Epic Collection consists of 496 pages for a suggested retail price of $54.99.
