In case you haven’t noticed, not many new films have been released over the last three months, forcing theater owners to return to the tried and true classics of the ’80s and ’90s such as E.T., The Goonies, and Jurrasic Park. And if you are talking about the 1980s and hits, you can’t leave out the film that had people singing and dancing all the way to box office, courtesy of Ray Parker Jr’s chart topper that proclaimed “Bustin’ makes me feel good!”
Starting July 1, the film that ruled the summer of 1984, Ghostbusters, will also return to theaters and drive-ins around the country, bringing some much needed laughs and nostalgia to those that remember seeing it as youngsters during that summer as well as a new generation of fans.
The official website listed above has an ever growing list of locations to catch the re-release. If your local drive-in or theater isn’t listed yet, be sure to check back throughout the summer months as theaters will be scrambling to fill screens (and seats) with classic fare for the majority (if not all) of the summer.
