Free Comic Book Day 2024 Gold Sponsor Comics Announced

It’s never too early to get ready for next year’s Free Comic Book Day, and the FCBD Committee has already announced the selection of twelve Gold Sponsor comic book titles for the annual event.

The Gold Sponsor titles will be offered by Andrews McMeel Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Marvel, Papercutz, Random House Children’s Books, and VIZ Media.

Ashton Greenwood, Free Comic Book Day spokesperson, said “We’re looking forward to another great year of celebrating comic books and comic book shops! This year’s lineup has a title for everyone. Whether you’re new to comics or a longtime reader, you’re sure to find a title that grabs your attention. And with the event falling on Star Wars Day this year, that adds a little extra excitement to the day!”

Many of the companies are keeping the exact comics a secret at this time, but others are getting the news out to fans right away. Marvel has announced Ultimate Universe Spider-Man and X-Men: Blood Hunt as their Gold Level comics. Dark Horse Comics will feature a Hellboy and Stranger Things split book, while IDW will use the event to promote the ever-popular TMNT series. Dynamite and Skybound/Image will also focus on updated takes on nostalgic properties with Jonny Quest and Transformers/G.I. Joe (The Energon Universe) respectively.

The full line-up of all forty-eight FCBD titles (both Gold and Silver level comics) can be found on the Previews website with additional titles by Archie Comics, Titan Comics, Tokyopop, Ablaze, and many other publishers.

Free Comic Book Day will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
